WILD LENS – ZOO

WILD LENS – ZOO – During the covid restrictions it was difficult to create photography with humans involved. Instead, I shifted my focus on animals during lockdown times. As a result, I have created a new collection called “WILD LENS”, which puts a spotlight on different animals in my characteristic “Blur Style”. The second series from the collection puts elephants and others in the focus and out of focus.

HUMAN BLUE – 15 CYANOTYPES

“HUMAN BLUE” 15 handmade Cyanotypes on finest paper.

My new cyanotype series on 300 gsm Zerkall paper. Each work comes behind glass framed with a 2.5 cm white wooden frame, ready to hang and each is limited to 10 expl. with a signed certificate.

WHAT IS A CYANOTYPE?
Cyanotype is a 170-year-old photographic printing process that produces prints in distinctive blue tones. The word cyan comes from the Greek, meaning “dark blue substance.” The process was invented by Sir John Herschel. The cyanotypes are made by coating handmade paper with a light-sensitive emulsion. It then gets exposed it in UV light for several minutes using a film to get the best image quality. Finally, the print gets washed and fixed with water. If done well, the result is an image with blue tones in gorgeous, subtle variations.

URBN ARCH – DARK TOWERS

For the URBN ARCH series, I am exploring urban architectural structures developments with an abstract viewpoint. The Dark Towers part is showing urban structures in Manila, with mostly high-rise constructions sides.

Some works from the Urbn Arch series were part of the group exhibition “OVER THE STRUCTURES” at the CICA Museum, Seoul, South Korea.

195 GLACIERS INSTALLATION

195 glaciers Wall Installation, 585 x 75 cm, 2019
The work consist of 195 framed 15x15cm original Cyanotypes (14x14cm)

My work 195 glaciers deals with the state of the approximately 200,000 glaciers of this planet and the resulting responsibility for the 195 parties who signed the Paris Agreement.

The sea level would rise between 35 and 47 cm if all the glaciers melted completely. The glaciers currently contribute about a third of the observed sea-level rise.

The 195 original Cyanotypes were created with 195 melting ice cubes in September 2019. The work is my entry for the Aesthetica Art Prize.

ABSTRACT SCANOGRAPHY II

A selection of abstract scanography works that I’ve created in 2018 and 2019. These work have been created with dye inks and acrylics on clear film directly on the scanner. Finally the work has been transferred by thermal sublimation on a glossy coated aluminum plate. This unique technique creates exceptional vivid colours. The works coming with a 2.5 cm aluminum frame, ready to hang. All works are limited editions of 3 copies.
